Welcome
to the Center for Creative History
The
Center for Creative History is an organization in the San Diego
County area dedicated to the idea of teaching and encouraging the
learning of the theatrical arts in all their diversity. We bring to life various interesting historical periods to stimulate both curiosity
in the lessons that our past can teach, and the skills necessary
to become accomplished in all aspects of the improvisational and
stage arts.
Currently
we are devoting our time towards producing the San Diego Renaissance Faire as a platform for developing future programs to further
these long-term goals. Our docents and performers appear at
various civic and non-profit events, outreach historical lectures
and hands on interactive demonstrations. Although we specialize in bringing Rennaissance and Victorian
skills suitable for different age appropriate levels for study in public schools, we excell in all historical eras.
As
we are able to build on this base, we plan to add teaching programs
for high school and college level students. In turn, these students will expand our base
of actors, dancers, stage hands, set designers, and other technical
staff. It is our goal to provie ample opportunities for all age of students to earn experience while enriching their lives through history. Becoming involved in the living history's performing arts gives students a solid base which they can use in their adult
lives to pursue a career in the performing arts.
With
the help and assistance of an ever growing group of volunteer teachers, proessionals,
and interested members of the community, weaim to expand the
different historical periods we can teach about in our uniquely
interactive fashion.
